Upon the release of the BMW M3 Touring, it quickly became apparent that the exhaust note from the mighty 3.0-litre turbocharged engine fell short of the expectations of owners seeking the audible thrill that should accompany a car of this calibre. In BMW’s defence, they produce the M Performance Exhaust (MPE) as an upgrade option; however, while it offers a noticeable improvement over the standard rear silencer, we believe it still falls short of delivering the full auditory drama this platform deserves.

With this in mind, we developed the BCS 3.5" Single Mid Pipe kit.

The result is a mid pipe solution that looks, fits and performs like it belongs there from the factory; only louder, sharper and unmistakably more dramatic. By amplifying the overall sound output and redefining the character of the exhaust note, it provides added drama in the form of pops and burbles that have become the stuff of legend on this platform, especially in the M1 and M2 modes. Precision built as a Factory upgrade, the 3.5" Single Mid Pipe Kit for the BMW M3 Touring delivers a deeper, sharper and more motorsport-inspired tone while maintaining the refinement expected of a modern M car. Engineered around a twin 3" inlet merging into a full 3.5" single mid-section, this configuration optimises exhaust gas velocity and reduces back pressure without sacrificing low-end response. At the heart of the system sits a smooth-flow Y-piece, promoting laminar flow and eliminating turbulence at the merge point, resulting in a cleaner transition of gases, improved throttle response, and a more aggressive, purposeful soundtrack throughout the rev range. To ensure long-term durability and OEM-level refinement, the system incorporate a flex section to  combat the differing heat expansion rates between components. This not only protects surrounding hardware but also ensures consistent sealing and reliability under sustained high temperatures and spirited driving conditions.

Installation and serviceability are just as important as performance. Supplied with 360° AccuSeal clamps, the kit guarantees uniform clamping force and a leak-free seal across every joint. OPF sensor provisions are fully integrated, maintaining compatibility with the vehicle’s factory equipment. Genuine refit sleeves are also included, allowing for a straightforward, reversible installation that aligns perfectly with OEM mounting points.

Please note: That in order to install the center silencer delete pipe set, the original BMW exhaust system will require cutting just before the rear silencer on the dimple used by BMW to mark the cutting position for installing an MPE silencer, but will still remain interchangeable through a genuine refit sleeve offering minimal fuss when reverting back to stock.
